Arpolube 372 is a bore cleaner for use in the removal
of primer salts and as a temporary preservative for metallic items.
Arpolube 372 is a highly penetrating, mobile liquid and is intended
for use in cleaning the bores of small arms and automatic aircraft weapons.
Arpolube 372 provides a temporary rust-resistant coating for the cleaned
surface.
Arpolube 372 Stability: (according to
MIL-PRF-372D)
Freezing:
Arpolube 372 shows no separation after storage throughout a
temperature range of -54ºC (-65ºF) to 25ºC (77ºF).
Heating:
Arpolube 372 shows no separation after storage at 66ºC (150ºF).
Residue and fluidity at low temperature:
The residue remaining after evaporation at 54oC (130ºF) is free from solid
particles and not tacky, and permits movement at -54ºC (-65ºF).
Appearance:
Arpolube 372 is clear and transparent when viewed by transmitted light.
Odor:
Arpolube 372 is free from disagreeable and offensive odors.
Corrosion protection:
Humidity cabinet:
Arpolube 372 is capable of protecting parts against corrosion during
continuous condensation on parts at temperatures up to 49ºC (120ºF).
Water displacement and water stability:
Arpolube 372, after storage in contact with water, satisfactorily displaces
water as evidenced by the absence of rust,
mottling, or other abnormal surface strains.
