Dag 156
Dry Film Graphite Lubricant

Dag 156 Product Description:

Dag 156 is specifically formulated to meet Military Specification MIL-L-24131C. Dag 156 is capable of satisfying the stringent requirements for lubricating the internal and auxiliary equipment mechanisms of commercial and naval nuclear reactor systems.

With Dag 156, extremely high purity graphite particles in a thermoplastic resin and isopropanol produce a thin, dry, non-corrosive film. The Dag 156 film resists abrasion and effectively lubricates moving parts, rubbing surfaces, and threaded parts for easier assembly, trouble-free operation, and non-destructive disassembly.

Specific advantages offered by Dag 156 include:

bullet High lubricity
bullet Thin, dry film
bullet Prevention of seizing, fretting, galling
bullet Fast air dry
bullet Excellent adhesion
bullet No film migration
bullet Not freezable

Dag 156 provides non-corrosive, dry adherent lubrication for metal parts with limited
clearances in applications where control of impurities is required.

Dag 156 Applications:
Nuclear Reactors, Commercial and Naval

Dag 156 Surface Preparation:
Substrates should be clean and dry before application. A solvent wipe and air dry is usually sufficient.

For critical applications requiring maximum adhesion, the following pretreatments are recommended:

Dag 156 Method of Use

Steel

Degrease, sand or vapor blast and/or phosphate coat.

Aluminum

Degrease, sand or vapor blast; degrease, Meta Etch or anodize.

 Stainless Steel

Degrease, sand or vapor blast and/or Granodine 16 (Amchem)

Copper Alloys Degrease, sand or vapor blast; degrease, dilute nitric acid dip and water rinse.
Rubber Clean with appropriate solvent.
Plastic Sand lightly, wipe with appropriate solvent.

Dag 156 Dilution:
Dag 156 is supplied ready for use to MIL-L-24131C. If further dilution is required by the application, add isopropanol while stirring thoroughly.

Dag 156 Application:
Shake or agitate Dag 156 well before using. Dag 156 can be applied with the brush built in the cap of the 2-ounce container or by conventional spray, brush, or dip methods.

Dag 156 Curing:
Dag 156 dries in approximately five minutes, depending on temperature and humidity.

Dag 156 Precautions:
Employ the customary safeguards in storing, handling and applying flammable materials of this type. Use Dag 156 with adequate local exhaust ventilation if product is sprayed. Avoid prolonged contact with eyes, skin, and clothing.

Dag 156 Container sizes:
QC Lubricants carries Dag 156 in Pint, Quart, Gallon, and Pail size containers.

Dag 156 Containers must be tightly resealed to prevent evaporation and contamination.

Dag 156 Shelf Life:
1 year from date of manufacture
